Sheriff Jim MulletT

Jim Mullett was born in Tucson, Arizona in 1968. He graduated from Amphitheater High School and went on to study Business Administration & Management at Pima Community College for four years.  He has been happily married to his wife, Melissa, since 1990. They have been blessed with two wonderful sons, Jonathan and Anthony.  Anthony has been serving in the military since 2017. Jim and his family have been proud residents of Garvin County since 1999.  Jim has been employed with the Garvin County Sheriff’s office since 2003 when he was hired as a Detention Deputy. The following year he was promoted to Field Deputy.  In 2007, he became Sergeant of Patrol and then was promoted to Undersheriff in 2009. Serving the Sheriff’s Office in these many capacities has given him a vital understanding of the importance of every position it takes to run a successful organization and to protect the citizens of Garvin County.

Jim has worked diligently both in the field and academically.  Over the years, he has accumulated over 1800 hours of C.L.E.E.T. training and holds an Advanced Law Enforcement C.L.E.E.T. Certification.  In 2015, he graduated from the Sheriff’s Academy and is a member of the Oklahoma Sheriff’s Association.  He is also certified through the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and FEMA as an Incident Commander. 

In his personal time, Jim has been active in the community as a Karate Instructor with White Tiger Combat Karate.  Something he began as a hobby to spend time with his youngest son, has led to achieving his 3rd degree Black Belt.  Jim strives to be a Godly professional man and holds a high standard of ethics in everything he does and intends to apply these values as Sheriff of Garvin County.
